Frequently asked questions
How accurate are the readings?
NoiseLog gives a close estimate of sound level in decibels. Because phone microphones are not laboratory-calibrated, use the in-app Calibration setting to match a reference for best results. Treat readings as a guide, not a certified measurement.
How do I calibrate?
Open Settings → Calibration and adjust the offset until NoiseLog matches a known reference (another meter, or a quiet ~30 dB room). Higher values raise the reading.
Is there a subscription?
No. NoiseLog is a one-time purchase ($6.99) that unlocks everything forever. There are no subscriptions and no recurring charges.
How do I restore my purchase?
On a new device, open Settings → Restore purchase (also available on the upgrade screen). Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Does it work offline?
Yes. All measuring, logging, and charting happen entirely on your device with no internet connection required.
Is my audio private?
Completely. Audio is analyzed live on your device to compute the level and is never recorded, stored, or uploaded. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How do I export my data?
Open any saved measurement in History and choose Export CSV, or export everything from the History screen. You can then share the file anywhere via the system share sheet.
